Drawn by the belief that great organizations and communities are built by the type of leaders who move with purpose and are rooted in their values, Rachel Mazza serves as Excelle’s Chief of Staff. Rachel brings nearly a decade of nonprofit management experience to the role, and a deep commitment to the kind of operational clarity that allows mission-driven work to flourish.

Rachel has spent her career strengthening her ability to hold strategy, day-to-day operations, and effective communication at the same time. With roles spanning development, executive administration, and external affairs, she has managed a multimillion dollar fundraising campaign, large-scale community events, a website redesign, executive transitions, and national partnerships. Success has looked like blending the needs of an organization with those of the community it serves while ensuring consistent deliverables and follow-through. Her most notable work was with the regional hunger relief nonprofit, Philabundance.

Though drawn to the world of strategy and operations, Rachel is also a lifelong creator. From graphic design, creative writing, and photography in her professional life to event calligraphy and painting as personal pursuits, she brings an additional creative eye to Excelle. One of her career highlights was spearheading the creation of a 150-foot community mural (by artist Calo Rosa) in collaboration with the nation’s largest public art program, Mural Arts Philadelphia.

Rachel’s career in mission-driven work stems from a commitment to building strong communities that originated back in high school. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Management and Organizational & Community Leadership from the University of Delaware and is a lifelong volunteer and learner.

At Excelle, Rachel supports Amanda and the Excelle team across project management, events, operations, finance, HR, communications, and any other opportunities that arise. Always a highlight of her work, Rachel loves connecting with Excelle women and is consistently inspired by their leadership and authenticity.
